Rosemary M. Henrickson

Rosemary Manikas Henrickson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, entrepreneur, and friend, passed away on August 23, 2026, at her home of 30 years in Oak Creek Canyon, north of Sedona, Arizona. She was 84 years old.

Rosemary was born on April 16, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to Dr. Alphonse Manikas and Helen Manikas. She grew up with her sister, Kathy, and brother, Peter, with whom she shared a particularly close bond throughout her life.

In September 1960, Rosemary married John R. Kruse, and together they had three children, Tom, Amy, and James. In 1975, the family moved from Illinois to Scottsdale, Arizona, where Rosemary began building a life that reflected her creativity, independence, and entrepreneurial spirit.

In 1978, Rosemary married the love of her life, David Henrickson. Together, they shared more than four decades of family, work, travel, and adventure. They raised their children, traveled the world, and enjoyed boating and camping. Hawaii, in particular, held a special place in their hearts, and they returned often to its beaches.

During the 1980s, Rosemary balanced raising her family with a successful interior design business in Scottsdale. Her determination and dedication to her clients helped her business thrive.

In the early 1990s, Dave’s career with Motorola took the couple to Beijing, China, where Rosemary created a successful business of her own, providing informational tours for families considering the move from the US to Beijing. She helped prospective residents navigate housing, education, and medical options, once again turning her resourcefulness into an opportunity. She also studied Feng Shui in Hong Kong and became a certified geomancist.

Upon returning to the United States, Rosemary and Dave built their home in Oak Creek Canyon. They spent the next 30 years there, enjoying the beauty of the canyon and working together as successful realtors with Coldwell Banker before retiring.

Dave passed away in March 2020. Rosemary cherished the life they had built together and carried their shared memories with her throughout the years that followed.

Rosemary was a woman of strong convictions who was never afraid to speak her mind or stand firmly behind what she believed. She was independent, determined, and deeply devoted to the people she loved. Above all, she was passionate about her family and took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Rosemary leaves behind her children, Tom Kruse; Amy and her husband, Matt Faull; and James Kruse; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brother, Peter; and many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Rosemary lived a full and remarkable life. From Chicago to Scottsdale, from Beijing to Oak Creek Canyon, she embraced each chapter with courage and determination. Her greatest legacy is the family she loved so deeply and the generations who will carry her memory forward.

She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Rosemary’s life will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Mass will be followed by graveside service and a luncheon at Rosemary’s home in Oak Creek Canyon, where family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate her life and memories.
