Mary M Serrill

Mary Margaret (Mattison) Serrill of Sedona, AZ passed away at home, on March 14, 2018 after an extended illness. She was 71. Born in Minneapolis, MN on June 17, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Kermit and Margaret (Hallbeck) Mattison.

Mary leaves behind her husband of nearly 50 years, G.B. (Sam) Serrill; their two children, Anne Serrill Belardo (David) of Ashburn, VA and Ben Serrill (Cari) of Wheeling, IL; three grandchildren, Mattison, Jacob and Nicholas; two brothers, John K. Mattison (Lynne) of Boise, ID; Thomas R. Mattison (Marie) of Edina, MN; mother-in-law Ellen J. Serrill of Sedona, AZ; and a niece and nephews.

Mary graduated from the University Minnesota where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. She worked as a social worker before raising her family. The family moved many times for her husbands career. Each place she lived she found something special to do including volunteering with the American Heart Associations, Go Red for Women campaign. Marys greatest gift was connecting with people. Mary was a wise, honest and caring person. She made and kept friends all over the country. Her favorite pastimes included rooting for the Minnesota Vikings and the Golden Gophers. Her most treasured time was shared with family and maintaining friendships.

A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday April 3, 2018 at 11am, at Christ Lutheran in Sedona, AZ. Burial will be at a later date in Minneapolis, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Associations, Go Red For Women or a charity of your choice.
