Obituary

Kevin Lawrence Tacik, loving fiancé and partner to Eva Wilczek, passed away June 13, 2026 in Sedona, Arizona, at the age of 51. Born July 22, 1974, he was the son of the late Francis and Lynn Tacik, and beloved stepson to Eloise Tacik. He was a devoted brother to Brian Tacik (Elizabeth Mroz) and Amy Shine (Brian), a loving half-brother to Kate (Annie), and cherished future son-in-law to Ann Wilczek. He was adored by his nieces and nephews: Olivia, Oscar, Emma, Kenzie, Maddie, Adrian, Alex, Andrew, Bianca, Cecilia, Leo, Christian, Owen, Timothy, and Amelia, and is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his loyal companion, Bucky.

Kevin earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University, and his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University. Upon graduating from Purdue, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army and proudly served as an active duty officer.

Kevin was a lover of life and adventure, with endless energy and an even bigger smile. He had a special gift for connection, a friend to all, near and far. Wherever Kevin went, he brought people together, and wherever he was, life felt fuller because of it.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His flame will never be extinguished.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Kevin’s memory to Chicago Canine Rescue, an organization with a mission close to Kevin’s heart. Any gift in Kevin’s name is a meaningful tribute.

Celebrations of life and memorials are being planned in Chicago and Pittsburgh. Service details are included on this page.
