Dora entered this life on December 22, 1945 in Scobey, Montana, and entered into rest on May 28, 2026 in Cottonwood, Arizona.
Dora was raised on a cattle Ranch in Scobey and graduated high school there in 1964. After that, she continued on to Kinman Business University in Spokane, Washington.
In 1971, Dora joined the Peace Corps where she worked for two years in Jamaica serving as a family nutrition guide for Jamaican families. Her husband, Curtis Larson, was also working in Jamaica. They were married in 1971 in Mexico City. Together, they stayed in Jamaica until 1973 when they moved to Irian Jaya where they spent the next three years working with local natives there. From 1976 to 2006, Dora was a homemaker in Jakarta, Indonesia, while Curtis worked with offshore oil production companies.
When Dora was not taking care of her family, she enjoyed many interests and hobbies involving motorcycles, scuba diving, golf, tennis, and a collection of antique motor cars. She even acquired her private pilot’s license. She was also no stranger to international travel, having visited 96 countries during the 1970s and 1980s when travel was a bit easier and more convenient.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar & Vera Anderson, sister May Hames, brothers Jim Hinton, and Loran, Bill, and Tom Anderson.
She is survived by her loving husband Curtis as well as her sister, Iris Pehan of Spokane, Washington, and many nieces and nephews in Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made in Dora's honor to your favorite Verde Valley charity or non-profit organization.
