Dona G. Barker

Dona G. Barker, age 95, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024, in Cottonwood, AZ. She was born on February 18, 1929, in Glendale, California. Preceding her in death was the love of her life, her husband William K. Barker. They were high school sweethearts and met at San Bernardino High School, California. They were married for 63 years.

Dona lived in Phoenix, Arizona for 50 years. She moved in November, 2023, to the Village of Oak Creek to be near her daughter and son-in-law. She is missed by many friends in the Moon Valley area of Phoenix and was known as “The Cookie Lady” for always having dog treats available for the dogs in the neighborhood.

Dona is survived by her daughter Sue Barker Suter (Steve); granddaughters Melissa Maffei (Christopher), and Laurie Suter; Great-granddaughter Drew Maffei; and her devoted dog Millie.
