Devin Mikles MD, 75, passed away at his home in Sedona at 3:40 pm on September 21, 2025. Devin lived bravely with Parkinson’s disease for over 23 years. Ultimately his body betrayed him but his disease was never able to steal his love and light. Devin dedicated his life in service to care for the physical bodies, minds and spirits of all people of the Verde Valley and he continues to be honored by those whose lives he touched and healed. His patients routinely describe him as the most compassionate kind physician they have ever been treated by. He was a gifted diagnostician who listened to his patients before he would develop a treatment plan to suit their individual needs.
Devin was born in the Fort Belvoir community hospital on the Fort Belvoir US Army Garrison Post to Truman Frederick Mikles and Dorothy Jean Reed Mikles on December 19, 1949. Devin attended college and medical school in Colorado but lived for many years in the Cottonwood and Sedona area.
Devin attended The University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, CO, 1976-1979, graduating magna cum laude with a BA in Biology and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He then attended The University of Colorado Medical School, Denver CO, 1980-1984, graduated with an MD degree, with honors in Neuroanatomy and was an elected member to the Phi Delta Epsilon medical fraternity.

He was foremost a very caring physician who was the first in the Sedona area to bring a clinical practice recognizing the critically important connection between physical health, the mind and the spirit.
