Carl Anthony Miller

Carl Anthony Miller passed away January 31, 2015 at home after a short illness. He was 98 and a longtime resident of Sedona, Arizona. He was born June 14, 1916 in Tempe, Arizona. His parents were Halbert Winchester Miller and Della Schaal. He got his middle name, Anthony, after his grandfather, Otto Anthony Schaal. He had one brother Halbert Benjamin Miller. Carl married Frances Sarah Lockwood on January 11, 1949 in Phoenix, Arizona. After attending college at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, Carl enlisted in the Army on February 8, 1941. He served in World War II in France, Italy and Germany. He was honorably discharged as a Captain on April 1, 1953. He continued in the Reserves for another 18 years. He worked for OS Topley Company as a purchasing agent. He retired at age 65 from Honeywell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and wife. He is survived by 2 nephews and a niece; Judith Miller Curry of Anchorage, Kentucky, Halbert Miller of Erie, Colorado and William Miller of Severance, Colorado.
